What’s more Christmasy than fresh baked cookies and the smell of pine? Nothing really. Except for maybe chestnuts roasting on an open fire of course. With the weather not willing to cooperate and the itch to do something different and editorial, the Tolles, whose new baby boy has now made several appearences on my blog, agreed to my christmas cookie baking idea. We had a great time, captured some sweet moments, and walked away with some warm fresh cookies.

This one has been a long time coming! I actually shot this back at the beginning of the summer, but due to a busy wedding schedule and just life in general, I’m just now blogging it! I love these two, and as you can see, so does the camera! Now that they’ve started their new lives in Washington (the state) I hope these photographs serve as a sweet reminder of their time in Indiana.

DUKE & CAITLIN | RICHMOND, VIRGINIA WEDDING

I headed down to my old stomping grounds of Virginia to be with Duke and Caitlin and the rest of their southern guys and gals for their big day. Their beginnings and history are deeply embedded in Richmond so it was only natural that they begin their marriage there too. The historical Linden Row Inn was a perfect back drop to their nuptials….almost as perfect as the sweet tea and the southern grits on the menu that night.

Congrats you two and thanks for letting me be a part of such a perfect day! Go Flames!! Roll Tide!!

These sweet babies, brother and sister, came to my house a few weeks ago and cuddled, sighed, and slept their way through their newborn documentary. I could have photographed them for hours!!

My sweet Eli and Connor came to visit me last month and so of course, I couldn’t help myself and decided to put a quick photo shoot together. I threw some jeans on them and told them to have some fun on Tia Patty’s bed…..and that they did! These two are the sweetest boys in the world and I miss them terribly. Thankfully, I won’t be forgetting this Friday morning with them anytime soon.

Liberty University Homecoming

It’s become a ritual for the five of us. We get together in Lynchburg, Virginia once a year, reminisce on old times, act like we’re 19 again, and stay up till ungodly hours of the night. When it’s over, my cup overflows with the joy of friendship and gratefulness towards my Alma Mater. Although it’s not the only time of the year when we see each other, being on LU’s gorgeous campus with the breath taking Blue Ridge Mountain views and passionate student body reminds us of God’s amazing love and providence for us…where we’ve been and how we got here. It’s a humbling thing to look back and know that everything, from the dorms we were in to the teachers we had, was part of God’s divine plan to mold us into the professionals, leaders, wives, mothers, and christians we are today. It’s been 12 years since I arrived on the campus of LU, and although lots has changed since then, my time at Liberty University continues to be one of the greatest capstones of this journey God has me on. GO FLAMES!!

Love this! It pretty much sums up what it’s like when we’re together.

Love these girls. I’m incredibly blessed to call them friends.

Speaking of Lynchburg, here’s a new song and video about the good ole’ Burg. I found the lyrics very fitting for this past weekend. Enjoy!

FERNANDO & LIZ 2.0

This one goes down in the history books as one of the funnest weddings with the most fantastic people EVER!! (Besides my wedding of course). The weather was God sent, the bride was the perfect definition of beauty and elegance, the ceremony nostalgic, the reception epic, and me, well, I’m still recuperating from my salsa dance with the father of the groom. The gentleman seriously danced circles around me and put most everyone on the dance floor to shame. But back to Fernando and Liz. As cliche as it sounds, they truly are perfect for each other. It was obvious to me after just a few hours of hanging out with them the morning before their wedding. Their love and respect for each other manifested itself in the smallest of details. It was evident it their conversations, tender arm embraces, long stares, and even sweet early morning wake up calls. And just as obvious was their love and gratfeulness towards their friends and family who traveled from all over to watch them become husband and wife.

To Fernando,Liz, and their amazing families, thank you for allowing me to play a small role in such a spectacular day. And Fernando, please give your father my sincere apologizes for my sub par dancing skills and the sore toes I’m sure he suffered from the severe stomping I did on his feet. Thanks and enjoy a small sneak peak of your pictures!

I picked up Liz at 7:30am the eve of her wedding day. After a quick stop at Starbucks, which we both desperaetly needed, we headed downtown, picked up Fernando, and strolled into the White River Gardens. The beautiful greenery, the colorful flowers, and the warm light of the rising sun helped wake us up….and the Starbucks, the Starbucks helped too. It turned out to be a perfect morning, just as perfect as their wedding day the following day. EITELJORG MUSEUM WEDDING: ROBBIE + STEPHANIE

After a warm greeting, the Popplewells along with Robbie welcomed me into their beautiful newly renovated dinning room where we sat for the following several hours. What should have been a meeting about the possibility of me documenting their wedding day became hours of talking about anything and everything in between. It was like old friends catching up. We talked about everything from electronics, to Dave Ramsey, cars, and of course, our four legged children. I think we had each other at Dave Ramsey. After leaving the Popplewells that evening, I knew we were a perfect match, and on August 13th, I had the distinct honor of documenting their perfect wedding day.

Robbie, Stephanie, Toni, and Vyn….thank you. It was truly a pleasure. Not just working with you, but mostly getting to meet you and your amazing family.
